    Need button ID expertise...

    My brother found this today at a location that wouldn't normally produce CW relics. It appears to be a CW button to our untrained eyes, but I need your input to confirm.

    They call them Union general staff button,I am not real sure about the age.But a very nice find.

    Tice dates the backmark only as "20th century," and buttons of this type were replaced in 1902.
    Forgotten but not gone.

    There was some 1860's era military training in that area, so thought we might have gotten lucky.
