W.A. bullets are minieballs with the star inside the base.  However, this is a new lead wadcutter or shotgun slug with the star on top.  The only CW era round in the photo is the .58 cal minie up top.

Re: Star Bullet?
Thanks for the replies guys. BuckleBoy, is there a good search term that might turn up a picture of those starred shotgun shell slugs? Makes a lot of sense for hunting game and not finding buck shot randomly throughout your meal

Re: Star Bullet?
The one with the star looks like a shotgun slug to me? some of the bullets are jacketed and probably early 1900s to date. But then there is some older stuff too, so nice mixed bag. Monty

Re: Star Bullet?
Well I'm not finding any star stamped shotgun slugs on google images... best I came up with was this:

I sure would like to know a MFG or date on that star one... seems old to me... it's got a decent white patina. Doesn't that mean it's been in the ground a long time?
I'm totally new to CW items... gotta start somewhere

Re: Star Bullet?
I can't ID all the types of ammunition ever made, but I can ID the Civil War ones. I don't know of a resource for shotgun, rimfire, or other more recent types.
I would say with that patina it is in the 1900-1930 range...
