Need some help identifying a Civil War era sword

    Hello,

My brother purchased a couple of swords recently and needs some help with the one pictured below. It has no markings. The blade is 31" long. He is trying to figure out what company it was made by but has come up with nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help and the links. It definitely looks like the Leech & Rigdon Confederate foot officer's sword that is pictured in the last link.

how heavy is the sword? that makes a world of difference. if it's heavy, then it could definitely be an authentic cw sword. remember they made these things out of steel and when new and shiney, they looked beautiful.
