Hi just have this C.S.A. button and want thoughts. I don't know much about it. paid a couple of dollars for it. For my mom to put with her other civil war stuff. Real or not she will like it anyway. DSC01988.JPG DSC01989.JPG

Your CSA button is definitely a reproduction from the 20th Century. The backmark is the key ID-clue. The Waterbury Button Company changed its name to Waterbury Companies in 1943, causing the backmark to then say CO'S (plural, like on your button) instead of CO (singular). Also, the Waterbury Button Company, always located in Waterbury in the state of Connecticut, of course did not manufacture any buttons saying CSA for the Confederacy during the civil war. The company did manufacture repro CSA buttons for Confederate Veteran groups after the war, but yours has the 1943-and-later CO'S backmark.
