Good morning everyone. I was hoping someone on here could help me identify this bayonet I have. I have done a lot of research on this bayonet and haven't found any solid evidence on who made it, or when. The over all length is about 21 inches, the blade is just under 18 inches, the socket is 3 inches. I found this bayonet at a local antique shop. If it helps the shop dose have original militaria. Thank you for reading my post, I look forward to hearing your comments.

Nice find. Yours is missing the locking ring. Go here and have fun... Socket Bayonets The S A with crown above it proof mark uses a crown that's exactly like a British crown marking but I've yet to find one exactly like yours. Markings - All About Enfields My guess ? British Enfield from around the Civil War era. Here's mine attatched to an 1853 Enfield.
