Great finds. Did the shovel have the two piece mount to attach the handle?

I believe so, it was about 4 inches in the ground diagonally but the handle part was barley sticking out w a little bit of wood showing... About an inch but it broke into pieces

I've also found a musket ball, marble and brass from an old shotgun shell (it still has paper inside). Funny thing ab these finds is that I wasn't even metal detecting... I was looking for arrowheads.

The highway to Nashville went through your area and thousands of troops one by where you are at. Great place to metal detect.
