Probably from a large steamer trunk of the period. (What's stamped on the upper left?)

Hey, Fred—

Is there any chance that the name on the left could be "C. LIEBRICH"?

C. Liebrich was a Philadelphia lock manufacturer from 1836 until 1869, when he retired and the company became known as Star Lock Works.
