Through some research using google earth, topo maps and a pre civil war survey map, I know the approximate location of confederate dirt fortification. I am not to knowledgeable with these and there construction. The location is very remote and realistically you can only get there by boat. Is it worth the effort to go check it out? Is it some place they would have actually stored supplies or were they temporary positions that usually do not produce many artifacts? I was only able to find information about one small skirmish there that involved a union boat coming up the river and was fired upon by soldiers at this location. Thanks for any insight you guys may have.

IMO Any site is worth a 'Scouting 'trip or 2 ,Especially one that may have been documented.

I'd Give it a Try.
