That is a nice button. If I read my book right your button would date post 1870. The clue is the large lettering in the back mark. Small lettering would date it c1850-1870

I used "American Military Button Makers and Dealers;Their Backmarks and Dates" by William F. McGuinn and Bruce S. Bazelon. Page 113 about halfway down the page. And, to answer your other question; there is a _under the O in Co.
