Roger, that wouldn't be an Andrew Jackson inaugural button, would it?

Great Eye Spats.
I mistook it for a Fancy flat Button.

That button is Banner in my Book.

Very nice find on the Inaugural button and the story as to where it was found. Have you ever tried the product Gemplers' on iron relics? I tried this last year and really liked it on some of my relics. It finishes the relics off and preserves the iron. It is a great product in my opinion if you don't mind the relics turning black. I thought about this a bit before trying it, and I decided to give it a try. My winning point was the overall look of the relic or preserving it for years to come. As I said, I was pleased with the overall looks when finished.

I have never heard of Gempler's but I looked it up online and it looks like something I might try. Thanks for the information

I learned about Gempler's on TreasureNet and bought a gallon recently. I soak iron relics in apple cider vinegar (learned that here also and is much easier than electrolysis) and then paint on a small amount of Gempler's after drying. It seems to work great.

Hey, could you add a close-up of your Andrew Jackson button?

Hey y’all. Nwa here as well. Just got back at this after a year of new wife and new life and ready to kick up the finds again at my old camps and skirmish sites around the area. How’s everyone been?

P1080061 (2).JPG Hi Spats, this is the best close-up I can get. How long do you soak the Relics In Apple Cider Vinegar?

Roger leave it. That’s all you need to do. You don’t want it to eat the rest away. That’s perfect and would make a heck of a display piece

Roger shoot me a text at 479-653-1568. I’m from the nwa area and can give you some hints on some places to look and take you around to a lot of my places I’ve hunted for the last 25 years. Plus give you ideas on how to clean those finds

Hi
I used to hunt in you area when I was younger but now I don't go any further than Madison County or Stone County in Missouri. I used to come over there and Hunt for Fort Reagan but didn't have any luck. I usually hunted with Stephen Burgess from Fayetteville. Stephen's Website (CampSite Artifacts)
