Just saw a brief preview. From the same folks that brought us The Curse of Oak Island. Just happens to be up by Marty Lagina's neck of the woods and they just happen to be using the same guy who does the metal detecting from The Curse of Oak Island, ( Gary Drayton ).

Some say the guys on Oak Island had some type of argument ? and maybe this is why ?

The Curse of the Civil War Gold must be true.....for I have Never found any. In this regard I feel kinda like Geraldo Rivera anxiously awaiting as workers attempt to break into the side of Al Capone's "Secret Vault". Why, there could be most anything in there.:dontknow: :laughing7:

I'm a huge Clive Cussler fan. Clive Eric Cussler (born July 15, 1931) is an American adventure novelist and underwater explorer. His thriller novels, many featuring the character Dirk Pitt, have reached The New York Times fiction best-seller list more than 20 times. Cussler is the founder and chairman[1] of the real-life National Underwater and Marine Agency (NUMA), which has discovered more than 60 shipwreck sites and numerous other notable underwater wrecks. He is the sole author or lead author of more than 70 books. One of his Issac Bell books is very similar to this story so there may be something to this. Of coarse I don't put a lot of faith in the "TV" stories because they have to add a bunch of "could it be" garbage to keep us watching. These guys are getting paid a lot of money per episode so I makes sense that Marty would want to do another show.

If that show uses the same narrator...well i hope he`s the first casualty !

If they use the same narrator, I guarantee I'll be the First casualty .
right after his First Moronic statement .
Which I'll Predict would be 30 Seconds in :(

Albert Pike? The Freemasons? The Knights Templars? I think it could be

My sentiments exactly when I first heard about the show. If they are at all watching the forums then they should be aware this narrator and his monologue will not help their shows ratings. I was trying to see if I could find who will be narrating, but have not been successful at that yet.

Who’s this Gary Drayton guy anyways? I looked him up and he has some cheesy bio on how amazing he is and stuff. Seemed to me when he was on the island he was just swinging with no certain area in mind or grids he had he wanted to check.

Anyone can Get Lucky. " TV metal detecting expert " LOL
Maybe on TV. But when he misidentified that Railroad spike as A ships nail,
either at their request, his error, or attempt at being thought of as impressive.

the word Expert is definitely questionable.

Tonight was another repeat of Expeditions Unknown and guess who was there with a metal detector ? Gary Drayton. They were over in England searching for the British Crown jewels that got lost in the bog.

the new Expedition Unknown was in Egypt .
I haven't sat down to watch it yet.
according to the Description he was looking for Nefertiti's & others Tombs.

Is This the Face of King Tut's Mother? | Expedition Unknown : Travel ...
www.travelchannel.com › Shows › Expedition Unknown › Photos
The body of Nefertiti, one of the most powerful women in the world, has never been found. But thanks to what we know about her marital past and about a DNA match to a mummy in Cairo's Egyptian Museum, we may now be able to put a realistic face to her name.

my dvr didn't record the one you mention

The repeat episode I had watched earlier tonight was called :
Expedition Unknown England's Vanished Crown JewelsJosh goes on a quest to find the legendary lost treasure of King John. He explores the deadly marshlands of England to find the despised king's crown jewels, which were swept away in a freak tidal surge in the 13th century.

I'd be willing to bet you that if they hired Geraldo Rivera to be the Head Honcho, Narrator, and MMI, (Main Media Interrupter), that they'd find the Knights Templar Treasures and so much more. And in record time.:laughing7:

I thought the very same thing when I saw that episode. I was thinking oh lord not another “professional”. I’d almost bet money on it we get some guys off TN who have half a brain, a huge sump pump, and some excavators we would have done found some sort of treasure. I realize time has taken its toll on the island with others digging and digging and throwing their piles back on the land instead of hauling it out somewhere else but come on 200ft in the ground.

He's a shameless self-promoter who may or may not have made a few really nice finds in the past.

I’ve noticed that. When I looked him up he rambled on about how good he is and how he searches. Granted we only got a few scenes of him actually detecting but something tells me he just sweeps and hopes to find something instead of getting a area to plot out and grid and dig everything. I would think someone really wanting to find those deep relics would at least set out certain sections and get a good idea of what’s in the ground instead of just blind man walking across the island. I do think there is stuff there that could be found with that minelab but I think it’s all in how he’s using it that they haven’t came up with more relics than they’ve shown
