Southern Cross of Honor

Here is a Southern Cross of Honor I found a little over a year ago. It is the early style pin back with the Crankshaw Atlanta mfg marking on the back. These were given out by the Daughters of the Confederacy to members of the UCV. I have intentionally cropped out the veterans name on the top bar as I am still gathering info on his service.

Very very nice. For those that aren't aware of this medal - The Southern Cross of Honor was a postbellum honor presented by the United Daughters of the Confederacy to members of the United Confederate Veterans. Very nice Southern Cross. My Great Great Grandfather was a recipient of one of these crosses. He served in the 44th Ga. Volunteer Infantry Co. D Army of Northern Virginia. Best of Luck to you in researching the soldiers service.
