Thinking it's a piece of broken trigger guard.

I appears to be a sight from some type of weapon, but I haven't really researched it. It may not be CW period, but was found in context with other CW relics so I included it here. If anybody has any idea I would like to know.

I really do believe , I have found a similar piece or 2 (just looks familiar).

The only side plate I have dug was Hammer-less.

Found mine off Bankhead in Austell years ago.

The rusty piece on the far left of the bottom row is whats left of the hammer to the sideplate just above it. I dug it out of a trench line at Ezra Church.

Not much left there , but you got it.

I searched for the hammer for 50+ Hours , while digging everything else.
Never found it.

I do believe that I found scerws & a couple other pieces to the Side-Plate; just never have cleaned them up enough to be sure.

Was gonna try to post a picture but i'm on my wife's lap-top , mine quit working ..'figures' lol.
