I’m looking for a display for a 24 pounder howitzer canister ball. It’s very special to me because I found it at specific Fort in New Orleans. Thank you for any suggestions. IMG_1053.JPG

For a ball that size , you have many options , the same size ball I won came on a est, 6 X 6 , X 1 inch piece of wood with a small 'US Quarter or slightly larger beveled hole in the middle to hold the Ball in place , it works but could be nicer , maybe a acrylic Base Ball or even better Golf ball enclosed Square with "find Details "placed somewhere in or on the enclosure.

Or put it on top of one of your Bottles ...Milk Bottle???

I know u will figure it out .
GL & again a nice find.

Great find! Just curious, how can you tell it is from a 24 pound Howitzer?

Perfect ordering now fyrffytr1. That’s all I need. Now all I would need is to find out where the make the metal plates with engraving? The only reason why I want that is purely location. I was researching where archaeologist went all though this fort. They missed one. Lol Any time I can feel like I stuck to a archaeologist it just makes me feel great!!!

I might pull the trigger on this. Free Engraving 874FEB5E-21B5-4509-893E-0AFF4D3605C8.png

No idea an expert told me and that’s what I’m going with. Lol

All in precise measurements and and I’m assuming that because he stressed PRECISE.

Great find on the canister ball Truth. I liked Davers and FF1's idea on the acrylic case. That would really be nice. As far as the engraving, get down the size of plate you need and the wording or details needed. Any sports trophy shop should be able to do this for you. Best of luck. Let us see the finished display once it is done.

That looks real good Truth, only I thought it was a Cannister Ball. Lol Seriously, I think that would look great.
