That is a glimpse into history on a very personal level . I would bet that thousands of soldiers carried small personal items as Good Luck charms with them that became lost in the heat of battle . Even if he never recovered the gun that was his ; we all know that the satisfaction of looking is part of the reason we try to found that that which was lost
