If you can get a good pic of any backmark we can look it up and date it closely in all likelyhood.

Wording on the back of the button is fading and reading back of the button it says water might be waterbury button.

I think it says "Scovills/Waterbury". The raised lettering would date it to the first quarter of the 19th century.

I concur with the dating on the button. Definitely made pre Civil War, which is good.
