battle ground hunts

Ive seen all these posts on here of people hunting in and around Va. on battle grounds how would you go about getting into one of these hunts who do you contact to get permission. is there any member hunts in the area thank you all HH

Most of the organized hunts have waiting lists and they use a lottery to draw participants. [u]The North South Trader[u] usually has some information about the organized hunts.

Sometime you can get permission yourself,just knock on doors.A lot of people just want to be asked.The worst that they can say is no.But you might hear yes.There is a lot of private land around a lot of these battlefields in VA.But don't get discouraged if somebody else has already been their MD because people miss a lot of stuff,the ground conditions change and items move in the ground from winter to spring.MD is a game of inches you never know what is just waiting to be found and preserved.That is the fun of History.Just remember to treat their land like your land.Leave it better than the way you found it.HAPPY HUNTING!!!!!
