    civil war bullet/need help ID

    I FOUND THIS DROP CIVIL WAR BULLET TODAY NEAR THE BATTLEFIELD OF PORT REPUBLIC IN VA.
    THE BULLET IS 1.030 LONG AND .70 DIAM. COULD ANYONE TELL ME THE M & M NUMBER FOR THIS BULLET. THANKS---ANY INFO WOULD HELP

    Looks like it is pretty close to MM# 386.

    It strongly favors a MM# 313 or a MM# 324. It is not a MM# 386. That has a diameter of only 0.581.

    The reason I said mm# 386 is because the bullet in the picture does not look like a .70cal bullet to me. If it indeed is a .70cal bullet then dnewbury2 is probable close on his id.
