    Naval Jelly, good or bad?

    Has anyone tried 'Naval jelly?

At one time this product was heavily marketed, but have not heard any mention in recent years. If a chemical can remove rust from iron and steel, it must be extremely caustic. However, it may have some benefits for copper and silver.

    S,

have used it. Most major home stores will
    carry it.

Never used it on coins. Artifacts yes. Bit
messy; I've used it as a first step on the really
heavy rust items. Put some on and let it work,
    repeat, repeat, bit messy.

    Have a good un............
