    Re: electrolysis

I have had much success with a trickle charger the older the model, the better it will work for this
(no automatic shutoff)a piece of 303 stainless steel bar and a few lengths of copper wire (pretty thin)
The negative lead goes to the object being cleaned attached to a strand of copper wire
the positive lead goes to the 303 stainless steel bar in the water
I use a 5% or so solution of baking soda in the water you will know in about 3 seconds if it is hooked up right the 303bar will have big bubbles on it and the (coin) will have a lot of really tiny bubbles comming off of it
do not touch the water you will get a shock
the Book Salvaging spanish treasure (for onder 5,000.00$)
shows a great set up in an old 10 gallon aquarium

    Dragon6B'er,

Plain old arm & hammer Baking Soda for Iron...use rainwater if you have it, or distilled.
Soda Ash for silver, just enough SA to make the water feel slippery.............same for the water...

Ok I am green when it comes to this stuff. You say plain baking soda for iron? How do you do what amount vs water etc.

    Thanks
