    Cleaning off the dirt

I use Badger healing Balm, relief for hard working hands, it has olive oil, beeswax, castor oil, aloe vera and oil of sweet birch.
I hope my coins don't die on me later
    they look good now.
I just use a little rubling it in so i can see the date and any mint marks.

    Re: Cleaning off the dirt

Ah! A person after my own heart!

Seriously, I've never tried it myself. I really like just plain distilled water soak.

I'll soak my coins from 2 to 52 weeks changing water about once every other week.

Once nice I'll dry them by heating them pretty hot with one of those hot air paint removers. While still very warm I seal them with Renaissance Wax which makes them look great. I buff lightly and once the coin sits a day or two I lightly re-heat it again as this melts all excess wax down into the coin pores. Give it another light buffing and it's good for 100 years.
