Looking for opinions and suggestions for a procedure. Currently I am working on a site and I am cataloging all artifacts found.(measurement location , date , also who found the item) . Currently I am writing on a label and inserting it in a baggie with the artifact, mostly metallic; brass, copper, iron. The size of a dime and up . My question is would be ,if an item is displayed the artifact
will be removed from the bag, possibly separating the artifact from the label. If I add the identification numbers to an artifact what is the best material to use or not use? I added a picture of the type of artifacts I'm working with. Thank you.
