Hard sand

Hi all. What is the best way of cleaning hard sand of coins? The sand has hardened over the years and it looks like hard cement thanks

Soak in vinegar

Is that ok? could it bring of some of the detail of the coin? I have had it sitting in a dish of hot soapy water. Thanks for your reply

Vinegar is frequently used to remove salts, lime deposits and other chemicals from glass, bottles and dish ware...

In fact, there are dishwasher additives for cleaning mineral deposit buildup that will work as well.
