    Coin Cleaning Help

I found a box of old coins--Merc and Rosie dimes wheats, Buffalo nickles Silver Jefferson Nickles..Approximately 200 coins that my father had. Unfortunately he had glued them to a board. They are now loose in a bag but I need to get the glue off without damaging the coins. They were glued on the board in the 1960's so the glue is old. I tried soaking them in soft soap and boiling water and that seemed to work some but not for all of them. What I am looking for on this is your ideas---

    Thanks in advance

Soaking in Alcahol for a couple days may work also.

If the glue is like Elmers glue, then if you leave them soaking in warm water it will eventually desolve, if its some kind of contact cement, I really don't know
but remember that even when you get all the glue off, it may still leave a
bright clean looking spot where the clue kept the air away from the coin and the
    rest of the coin oxidized.
    Good luck.

    P.S.
if I ever put things on a picture frame I always use Elmors type glue
so that later I can remove it by soaking in hot water if I want to change it in the future.
