    Jewelry Cleaning

A few years ago I was in-between jobs and worked in a jewelry store. It was here that I learned how the professionals clean jewelry. Yes they all sell jewelry cleaner, but they don't use the stuff!

The next time you need to clean your gold rings, go get yourself a bottle of "sudsy ammonia". This is what the pro's use.

I purchased a ultrasonic jewelry cleaner from Sharper Image. It was kinda pricey, but it works great and I have used it for years. Just fill the cleaner with straight sudsy ammonia, turn it on and when it's done (mine has a timer built-in), your rings and things will be looking great!

    Re: Jewelry Cleaning

Good point. I use an ultrasonic denture cleaner with heat and fill it with windex w/ammonia. The 1st cycle loosens and removes most of the dirt and grease. Then a quick scrub w/a toothbrush to get underneath the stones and a final 4-5 min. and clean as a whistle.
