Do i need to clean?

What happens, if i do not clean, ''a coin''after digging it from the ground?Will it do anything to the value of the coin? Me my self, long as i no what it is, Id rather leave it like i dug it ... And yes I am afraid to use anything on it,ya never no what might happen!!

Ultimately it is your decision. I think the general rule of thumb if its a common coin with little value do what you like, if its a potentially a valuable coin leave any cleaning and preservation to an expert.
