I tried my hand at electrolysis a couple days ago. Some of you guys may know rtde3 and the famous "shark pit",well he sent me one of his cookie coins and a token that doesn't need cleaning. So I tried to "clean" the cookie coin. I used an old 1 qt.mason jar,a 5v 1amp phone charger,a stainless steel carabiner (it"s all I could find to work), a stainless steel spoon with a pair of hemostats connected to it.I used baking soda with distilled water too.The first round went great.I got all the black gunk off of the coin and changed the water.This is where it goes bad.I must have used too much baking soda in the mix because two hours later the coin was basically destroyed.I could tell it was a barber dime but that was it.It ended up in several pieces.And thats how the cookie crumbles........
