Hello. I have some old Maine Medicine bottles that upon loading photos to Ebay of, I noticed the bottles were due for a clean, but cleaning makes me quite sketchy. At any rate I decided to wash them up a bit in warm sink water with mild hand soap, the kind you would find in the soap dispenser of a public bathroom, an anti-bacterial hand soap. I used to use dish liquid, but have recently changed to liquid hand soap.
I squirt a bit of the hand soap, and used a tooth brush for cleaning, which I got the idea to use a tooth brush from this site, and I ran the bottles under the water while I cleaned. There was an area of beige paint on one of the bottles the tooth brush took off nicely, I previously had only scrubbed them with my hands. So with that method I cleaned them. Is this a sound method?
