    Distilled Water application

    Hi All,

I have heard that distilled water is one of the best cleaning methods available.

Is there any metal that should not be put in distilled water?

Is there a limit of how long a coin can be in distilled water?

    How does distilled water work?

Thanks in advance for all the responses!

    HH.

    Re: Distilled Water application

as far as i know you just soak stuff in the distilled water. i would imagine it would take months if not years to work. from what i can gather it works because distilled water has no mineral content. as something is soaking in it the minerals leech into the water, or something like that. for copper or silver i would imagine you could soak it forever with no problems. iron would probably be another story.

red's got the idea right, as I understand it. If you do a search, Michigan Badger did a number of posts about distilled water soak. You have to change the water regularly...
