So, I had been keeping all my better finds together in a ceramic jar... Today I noticed there was a weird corrosive reaction between 2 or 3 items in there. As I discovered it, I began taking things out of the jar and moving things around, so I am not entirely sure what was touching what but will try to describe it the best I can.

The aluminum bird bad seems to have gotten the worse of it. It was on top and has been etched by the reaction. First photo shows it prior to the reaction.
Below the bird bad was the green penny. I thought it was the culprit at first but am not so sure now.

Below the green penny was a Barber dime that had a crusted black blob on the upper left back of it out of the ground. The black blob is now gone and has reveled a slightly pitted surface.

Finally below the barber dime was a canadian penny which had a spot of the patina eaten away and some of the surrounding surface blackened.

Obviously there is an error in my keeping these items all together as I had been....

Any insight into what might have happened would be appreciated. :icon_thumleft:
