    Electrolysis question

I am a newbie to electrolysis. I built an electrolysis device with a 12V .33A cellphone charger and have used it a few times with mix results.

Is there an easy way to tell the positive from negative wires (besides looking for bubbles)? Do they sell a meter that will tell me this?

I have noticed that after 20 minutes the charger gets really hot. Do I need to use a better/bigger charger or is this common to all chargers?

    Thanks for the replies.

    Re: Electrolysis question

I'm pretty new too....but for what its worth.... look at the wires closely, the wire that is grooved bumpy should be the neg - (at least on the 4 chargers I have they are neg)

Another thing You can try. Take a non value clad penny if polarity is wrong, it will oxidise the penny real fast.

A basic ohm meter will show you positive and negative.
As for the charger getting hot. All 3 of mine (200, 600, & 1250ma) get hot pretty quickly.
On iron objects, I leave them on for 12 hours without any problems, but, just for safety,
I leave them on outside. Can't be too careful.
