    Re: Distilled Water

    Whitesid,

How bad are your coins? I have used distilled water and it can take 2-3 months to start seeing results (depending on how bad your find was). You will have to change the water at least once per week or sometimes more. It is slow and tedious but it does seem to work. Don't mix metals (i.e. copper with silver coins).

    Good luck!

    Re: Distilled Water

Soaking in distilled water is one of the safest ways to clean coins, but it takes a VERY long time. Weeks, months, or longer. Have patience: they will get clean eventually.

And kudos to you for using this oft-overlooked method to clean dirty coins!
