    Dish Washer??

Could coins and/or relics be cleaned in a dish washer? I have overhauled several fishing reels that were cleaned that way. Put the parts in a mesh bag - onion sack.

Had a guy tell me that you can clean anything in there - as long as your wife don't find out. Said he once cleaned a dismantled transmission in one.

It's a good method for removing "factory" grease & oils from things. It's a popular way for trappers to degrease new traps, but doubt it'd do much for your purpose. As mentioned, I don't think flakes of rust & crud would be good for it's guts.

The transmission idea is hilarious! If my husband heard about that I wouldn't be able to put dishes in my dishwasher anymore. He should have put one of those in his shop instead of the ol parts washer, I'm sure it would work much better. New dishwashers have a lot in their brochure about how there is a grinder in there so you don't have to clean your food off your plates. I never do and it's never had a problem.
