Yeah you prolly could but you would want to make sure you dont have anything in there that could possibly foul up your water pump. howd u splain that one to the wifey?

It's a good method for removing "factory" grease & oils from things. It's a popular way for trappers to degrease new traps, but doubt it'd do much for your purpose. As mentioned, I don't think flakes of rust & crud would be good for it's guts.

The transmission idea is hilarious! If my husband heard about that I wouldn't be able to put dishes in my dishwasher anymore. He should have put one of those in his shop instead of the ol parts washer, I'm sure it would work much better. New dishwashers have a lot in their brochure about how there is a grinder in there so you don't have to clean your food off your plates. I never do and it's never had a problem.
