After all the hype about how cola will dissolve a nail, clean grease out of clothes, clean a toilet bowl, etc. Has anyone tried soaking dirty/stained coins in cola before? I would be interested to hear from anyone who has done this or might know the chemistry involved or the possible repercussions of such an attempt.
Thanks, Idaho PRB
If it's worth doing wrong, it's worth doing twice.
Don't use cola for any coin you think may be worth anything. Unfortunately it seems to remove the patina as well as any crud. Electrolysis works wonders if you do it carefully.
Ever hear of using Taco Bell sauce? I BS you not! It works.......theres an article about it on the net or if I remember correctly right here on Tnet someplace.
