Coin Cleaning

This is a before and after pic of a 1958 wheatie cleaned Never Dull wadding material. It can be bought at most auto parts stores.

did it scratch the coin?

It did not scratch the coin, the lines that appear are just ruminates of the cleaning material.

I looked at the coin again and has no scratches on it. I just failed to wipe off the coin with a soft cloth afterwords. It took about 25 seconds of rubbing on each side to make it look as it does.
