My mom called last night, found two old pocket watch`s and she hoped I could help her
get info on them.

The first was an "Elm city" watch that was easy enough to figure out, it was a "custom" item
made by the New Haven Clock company.

The second watch which simply reads "Tornado" on the face, has been difficult to find any info on,
I found only one reference on several searches.

Mom says its very "heavy" and could be gold, it is a hunter case (from her description) but the case
in and of itself, may be little help as it could be a cheap watch in "good" case.

Apologies for no pics posted, my sister is going to help get pics to me later this week along with
a better description. My question: has anybody ever heard of the "tornado" watch company from
Chicago?

Appreciate any input.

UPDATE: here`s the pics.

I believe the Tornado Watch Co. was one of numerous proprietary names used by the Trenton Watch Co., Trenton, New Jersey, c. 1885-1908.

many watches were manufactured by one company, and another put on the face...
a pic of the movement would help identify the piece...

nice watch... love the case.

Here`s the pic of the movement. Love the "U.S. OF America"

(no hallmarks or gold content noted on case, if it is gold its most likely
gold-filled)
