Looking for Info on Monte Vista & Alamosa CO. Area.

Hi All, wanted to inquire if there is any good treasure hunting around Monte Vista or Alamosa. My Sister moved there a few years ago and I plan on going to visit again in the near future. Is the area any good for nuggets or old sites? Hope you can help.

I realize this is a late reply...but I would say yes on coins and relics. Plenty of old farms and homesteads in the area. Went to Alamosa last year for a MMA fight. It is placed in a valley surrounded by gold bearing mountains...so a big yes on the prospecting. May have to drive 20-30 to get to said mountains.
