Hello Colorado Treasure Hunters,

I have been looking for some property in Colorado for awhile and think this is the year I will be relocating.

Can anyone offer any insight into the laws regarding treasure hunting? I am not familiar with them there.

Specifically,

- Where can I use a metal detector and where is it prohibited? (Can I use it on federal land out in the mountains?)

- What are the rules on looking for gold (nugget shooting/panning)

- What about recovering a cache?

Anything you can tell me to get me up to speed would really be appreciated.

Thanks,

Patrick

Well, thanks anyway. Maybe I will find someone who knows or is willing to share the info.

Have a great day and happy treasure hunting.

These treasurenet by location are really slow. I don't think it is because nobody wants to answer it just nobody with info has seen your request.

Hi Beans,

Thanks for that. I just figured no one wanted to answer or were too busy.

It will be a fine day when I can get out there and treasure hunt full time just for the fun of it. Although, it may take a bit to acclimate to a colder climate but it beats that 100+ degree heat we have in Texas from May through October (with almost no rain.)
