If you don't mind wading, check out a place called Crab Island, in the water on the northeast side of the Destin bridge. It's basically a long sand bar that many, many boats tie up on to party. There are semi-permanent "food boats", floating water slides, a band (sometimes), etc. There are also a lot of people, so I bet you can find a ton of jewelry in there (toe rings!).

You'll have to set the ground balance on your AT Pro real low in the water (0-10, probably) and keep the coil off the bottom. You'd need a long-handled scoop too, or waterproof headphones and good lungs. It's only 2-3 feet deep or so, but still.

Other than that, Destin is all beach, and the AT Pro will tear it up just fine in the dry white sand. Just remember to redo your ground balance whenever you switch to the wet sand or the water or back to dry sand. Have fun!
