While we were discussing coils today, I was trying to remember the name of the BIG coil I saw on EBAY the other day, and it is the NELS 15x17 beast:

Also, I am sure BP knows about this, but I love how you can detach the end of the Deus and check your signal while "in the hole" (in the Vol1 Introduction video).

Finally,
I looked up those ETERNIT brass pieces I found:

Looks like they were used to attach asbestos siding or asbestos roofing shingles.
I think I saw some in a hole I dug.
Hopefully we did not get too much exposure.

Good to know about the brass tacks, been finding them on and off but never looked them up. We are definitely covering some ground, got to hit a virgin spot soon. Nice weather for August, I was wet with sweat but not whipped. Went for a bit this morning, daily exercise. All total, not a bad weekend.

I have that key I found in the tumbler right now seeing if I can clean it up.
It is very decorative for a key and has a serial number on it.
I am also tumbling that US Postal service lock (well part of a lock).
These are some recent "tumbled" finds (except the tent guy line tensioner).
I never knew what that was until my spouse showed me a picture of one on the internet and I said I have one of those in my "unidentified finds box".

Nice finds guys.
I have found a lot of those brass tacks, and found out they were exactly what you say they are.
They ring up like wheat pennies. Usually where I dig those tacks I also dig Wheaties.
Whenever I find those tacks, I know there should be silver nearby.....

Nick, those cleaned up pretty good. Might have to look into a tumbler, probably can't get the wife to polish all my finds.

I use a tumber. I use it on all my brass, clad etc. Its so easy... just drop it in and change the water every now and then.
I just don't use it on my silver, old coppers, and old relics.
Aquarium Gravel, Hot water, and a little dash of soap.

I use the Thumlers Tumbler Model T, its a little pricey, but made in the USA.
I hear harbor freight sells a tumbler for cheap.

I have an older Thumler's Model T like this one:

I also have the cheap dual harbor freight one too.
They sell tumbling media too at harbor freight.

I am like you though that cheap aquarium gravel works the best.
I also use this Conklin multi surface cleaning gel that was recommended on the "Friendly Metal Detecting Forum":
