417 RELIC HUNTERS Springfield Missouri Metal Decting Club Treasure Hunting
Hello,
There is a new club in town. If you are interested in becoming a better treasure hunter and live in the SW Missouri area, then this club is for you! Our monthly meetings consist of interactive training meetings, finds of the month competition, fun interaction and lots more.
Our goal is to work together to make all of us more successful in the field.
The 417 Relic Hunters club met last night. Included after the meeting was one on one help with club members. We coverd a few tech tips on the Whites XLT. A few club members were informed about how to cure some commom problems encounterd while relic hunting. Learning your detector was the theme. A vote was taken to eliminate the Dec. meeting and shedule our next meeting to began on the 1st Tuesday of every month. At this time dues will be collected and the club will officially be in effect. Thanks to everyone who attended, I will see you at the next meeting on 01-02-07. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all. Tsgman

This is a great bunch of people. This club is actually interested in teaching its members to become better detectorist. Each meeting has time set aside for detailed training, from the most experienced to the least. Its great that the experienced detectorist are teaching the newer ones. This will make the club strong and allow each member to enjoy the hobby to the fullest. Great Job guys. This is time well spent...

Goodluck with the new club.I just can't make that 100 mi drive back home late at night after dark.Need a Sat or Sun time frame but understand the reasons behind the time designated (I think).
Wow, wish I had a club like that in this area. I brought my US Belt plate to the club I was in and won third place for the weeks finds (that was a while ago) A ring won first place and coin second. I coulnd't believe it, but relics just don't seem to be the thang in this part of MO.
If you missed it in todays finds, here it is again, yesterdays finds. Hope no one is confused by that! Our finds from yesterdays hunt. I think Johns Martingale is worth between 175.00 up to 225.00 possibly. I saw one similar to his for sale for 225.00

417 RELIC HUNTERS CLUB
A few members and I had a chance to get out and explore a possible old camp. Not sure if CW or before but its a junction where two roads come together found by Ron Bunch! We have been here before with some luck including a 1787 Spanish Reale.
We still have lots more to cover. On this day we did find some mini balls, old shotgun bases and some scrap farm iron. But the finds of the day were two pewter buttons found by Steve the club president.
We had another great meeting the other night. Sorry some of you missed it. Steve Russell started a three part series on Metal Detecting 101. Several members brought in some cool finds to check out as well.
Here are some pics. Look for the club newsletter to be out in a couple of weeks!
Also, coming soon will be the first 417 Relic Hunters video production. Details are coming!
It was a good meeeting! We had 14 or 15 attend with about 5 or 6 that couldn't make it due to illness and other conflicts. I will look forward to seeing everyone soon. Happy hunting. Tsgman

417 RELIC HUNTERS CLUB
We had a great meeting this month. Tim did well again as well as Garry Williams with the finds of the month. The highlight of the meeting was the training class instructed by Steve Russell. It was all about coils and the different types of coils, uses and advantages and disadvantages. Then we spent just a little bit of time actually out putting some of the training to use in our test pit.
Very involved and educational training. Here are some pics from the meeting.
Remember, we meet the first Tuesday of each month! If you are interested, let me know!

Re: 417 RELIC HUNTERS
I'm in Springfield and I think one of you contacted me before... I wish that I had more time to be able to get together with your group and the finances to purchase a good detector. But so is life... right now my college diploma is holding priority in my life. Thanks for having a good group like this in the Southwestern area!
