I just got a metal detector Monday, I have been looking to get into this for 15 years. I have a huge interest in finding anything the more variety the better. Someday I hope to travel and hunt some cw sites, but I need to learn the skills first, so any help with sites, or hunts that I could join would be great. I am in Union County. I work at a church as the youth director, and I work summers at a camp. I do have some free time. Please help me get into this hobby and prove to my wife that the auction purchase of the metal detector wasn't a waste of money, thanks.

Suggest you join a local Treasure Hunting/Metal Detector's Club; read your machine's instruction book thoroughly and practice, practice, practice--first in 'controlled environments' (where you put different coins on the ground--after first determining there is nothing in that area) and listening to your machine give you different signals as you pass over different objects.)
I'll PM you with another thought.
Welcome to Treasure Net !!
