Hi everyone, I'm 22 and just started metel detecting. I live in High Point NC about 2 miles from Brummel's Inn where a pouch of gold coins are supost to be buried. The story goes in 1854 a man by the name of William D. Wentworth left out with a pouch of gold coins one night before going to bed. He was gone for about an hour and headed toward Richfork creek. When he returned the pouch wasn't with him and he died in his sleep that night. This is located on the old stage road between High Point and Greensboro. The owners are friends of the family but will not give anyone permison to hunt the area. Also on West Lexington Ave. at the intersection of Chestnut and west lexington Ave is the towns old school house which dates back to the 1800 to 1900's.
