I am new here and noticed all the posts in the Ohio section are very old.
We are forming a new Prospectors club in Ohio and I thought this might be a good place to post it. There a several of us that metal detect. Most of us are gold prospectors though. Several rockhounds too.
If any of this sounds interesting to you, come on over and check us out.
The club is just getting off the ground, but we have a lot of interest so far!

Wow i did not know there was gold in Ohio . Looks mucho Cool. How do I get involved in your club. I live in London but would be happy to drive ot club events/digs. Do you have an email address or you can find mine on my profile.

We are at almost 40 paid members now and growing!
We have a new property leased for the club to hunt on near Bainbridge Ohio (Ross Co.) and it is just plum full of gold!!!! About 6 acres. With campgrounds. Check it out at our website:

It is in Ross Co. about 5 miles north of Bainbridge Ohio.
We are also trying to get some property leased in Clermont Co. (near Cincy).

My girlfriend has found 1 spear point and 1 arrow head so far.
A boy that lives up the creek from us found a Mastadon tooth ! What a find!

If i pay a membership would you mind if i walk creek to look for artifacts?Only hunted gold once in Colorado went with some relatives of my wifes i do metal detect also im not far from that area and go to chillictohe alot anyways just a thought.Ron

Yes Ron,
We have members that hunt artifacts, metal detect, gold hunt, flint knappers, etc...
Who knows, we might even turn you on to gold prospecting!
I have been wanting to build up our MD members anyways. I want to start having MD contestes and outings.

A visitor must have a member present while on the property, but a paid member has full access 24-7 upto 7 days straight. If you stay 7 days, you must stay away for 7. We don't enforce this much, but it is in place for anyone that might just decide to live there.
