I am not aware of any specific metal detecting groups on the west side of the state. I know putting on a "how to use" type demonstration for metal detectors is on the to-do list for the Northern Hills Prospectors (Northern Hills Prospectors | Deadwood, SD), but that's about the closest thing that I can think of.
