Thanks for the info Clemsonfan. I live in Laurel Fork Va and my yard will not have to be mowed any more if I keep hunting here.lol. I go to Hillsville a lot and the big flea market is over now and wonder if a person can hunt anywhere near the vfw there. I am new at this hobby and got a lot to learn.Am retired.

I didn't realize there were so many SW VA members here.

I work in Narrows, VA (on the VA/WVA border North of Blacksburg). I have a home near Fairystone State park, went to Bassett High School.

I have a metal detecting permit from Roanoke Parks & Recreation, but haven't gone there yet - you can do it by e-mail. I understand Danville requires a permit as well - e-mailed them but no response.

Haven't been out as much as I've wanted to this season - so much continuing rain. I think I've used my new E-Trac about 30 hours this season - need more time with it!

There's a club in Roanoke, so I've heard, but I haven't joined.

I'm out here! I do have a couple hunting buddies - but they seldom hunt :(
