Saturday morning I went with my mom to her bank as she had some banking to do. I never buy coins from this bank because they have to take each roll of coins and count them before they sell them. Since I like to buy in large quantities I just don't bother. My mother told me to ask for halves and I wasn't going too, but at the window she reminded me. So I asked the teller if she had any halves available and she said $90.00, how much would you like. Of course I said I'll take all of them. She went to the vault to buy them and returned to the counter. I immediately noticed that the wrappers looked very old and beat up. Then I noticed some writing on the wrappers but I couldn't read it from where I was standing. I immediately thought are they silver? Hmmm So then she opens each roll and precedes to count and verify that the rolls are not short. As I see her dump the coins into her hand I can see the rims of the halves and I can tell they are indeed SILVER. I didn't want to get excited or smile like a hungry fox, so I had to bite my lower lip. The teller was very nice and talked while she checked all nine rolls of halves. If she knew they were silver, she sure didn't care. About 7 out of 9 rolls were all silver! That was a good start to the new year of crh!

that penny you found with the counter stamp, i seem to remember a company selling a set of pennies with each penny having a state counter stamp on it, seems like it all came out around the time the state quarters did, but i can't remember who was selling this set? anyone else remember?

The best part of roll raiding is when you have to dig out your "poker face" because you know it's going to be a good stash.

GREAT PICS & Nice Finds!
