hello all,

I decided to try my luck with crh again.

I did 2 boxes of pennies

box#1
574 pre 82's
6 wheats ... 1909, 38D, 55S in really good shape, 44, 50, 47D
7 Canadian oldest 1962
(2) 69S, 72S, (3) 74S, 71S, 70S ..... are these proofs? with the S mintmark

box#2
757 pre 82's
14 wheats .... 28D, 39, (2) 44, (2) 45, (2) 53D, (3) 55D, (2) 56D, 57D
8 Canadians oldest 1966, a 20 cents Mexican coin, 2 cent Euro German
(5) 69S, 70S, (2)68S

Good job on your two boxes RB.. As far as "proof" lincoln cents, 74s and earlier would not be proofs, while anything 75s to present would be a proof.. Gpurs....

Although likely a true statement, the 1968 through 1974 pennies with a S mint "could" be proofs, but business strikes of those also exist in large quantity, so odds are they are not proofs.

The mirror like finish on a proof will stand out if it is one.

And for only a few wheat pennies...a few of those are pretty tough....1909, 1938-D, and 1955-S Good finds.
