The results from my road trip this weekend to the beach were not great but the family had a good time which is why we went. Here are the details.
I called ahead to over 30 banks along the way, and most had 0- less than $2.00 in halves. I dumped $10,000 in halves in a major city on the trip (which uses a different FED coin depot). I managed to get $200 from 2 separate banks; $120 from 1 and $80 from the other. The $120 were in marked hand rolls, so I counted on skunk, but found 6- 40%. The $80 was in unmarked hand rolls. It yielded 13-40%, 1 -90% Kennedy, and 1- 1968 proof. Maybe I should have put more into the planning stages and called more banks along the route but further off the highway. But in reality this was a family weekend, and my wife was generous enough to allow me to make stops to our destination.
The real discouraging thing to me was the lack of halves altogether.
