Considering I hoard everything and not sell I would say it costs me about $0.37.8923 per hour, plus gas and wear-n-tear on my vehicle.

But the thrill of the hunt PRICELESS!!!!!!!

its not a job but it is work. its all about motivation. for the same reason a person who is very lazy at work will get off time. only to run over to the golf course and walk 5 miles carrying a bag of clubs. PEOPLE DO WORK IF IT DONT SEEM LIKE WORK. thats why the happiest workers are people who do what they like. also a big key here is u only do it IF u feel like it. the lure of what MIGHT BE out there. and im not big on making special trips. i just combine this with whatever else im doing

Based on silver prices and the coinflation silver calculator I made $155.36/hour yesterday! ;D Unfortunately that is the exception. The day before I made $0/hour. :(

I just sold almost all of my silver to finish remodeling my house. End of the day I made $1300 from 5 month of CRHing. 21 weeks about 2 hours a week and it comes out to about $30/hr. No figure in the occasional road trip and casino hunt and its probably more like $20/hr. That being said the finds lately have been getting smaller and smaller so that hourly rate decreases quite a bit. But in the end it is a hobby and that $1300 just bought new carpet for my upstairs, so how many hobbies really bring home that much money?

I'd be so poor, I'd have to work at the soup kitchen, just to make enough to stand on the other side of the table

How much would I make? You mean how much would I lose? Between all the time I spend CRHing and the gas I use, I would be losing money. But I don't do this to make money. This is a hobby for me and I don't even think about the money I make/lose in the process.
